13th Annual Mayor’s Prayer Luncheon
Jim Burns, PhD, will be the keynote speaker at the 13th Annual Mayor’s Prayer Luncheon. The event is scheduled for 9:30 a.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Kilohana Luau Pavilion in Lihue.
Dr. Jim Burns is the President of HomeWord and the Executive Director of the HomeWord Center for Youth and Family at Azusa Pacific University. He speaks to thousands of people around the world each year. He has close to 2 million resources in print in 30 languages. He primarily writes and speaks on the values of HomeWord which are: Strong Marriages, Confident Parents, Empowered Kids, and Healthy Leaders. Some of his most popular books are: Confident Parenting, The Purity Code, Creating an Intimate Marriage and Closer. Dr. Burns and his wife, Cathy live in Southern California and have three grown daughters, Christy, Rebecca and Heidi.
The Mayor’s Prayer Luncheon is sponsored by Kaua`i Island Ministries and other partner island churches. Mayor Bernard P. Carvalho Jr. will serve as the honorary host of the event. Representatives from community businesses, government and church leaders are expected to be in attendance. As in the past, over 1,000 are expected to be at the event. Suggestion donation for luncheon tickets is $25.00 per person or $250.00 for a table of 10.

IMUA 2nd Annual Men’s Conference
Featuring 2 Great Speakers:
I am excited to personally invite you to our second annual Men’s Conference called IMUA! We are familiar with this special Hawaiian word which means “Moving Forward”.
The goal of this conference is to have the men come together in fellowship and most of all be encouraged and directed in the Word of God.
The Evangelist Fred Felton III, founder of Impact Ministries Int’l in Tampa, Florida, is the invited keynote speaker. He is locally well liked and is requested to come speak a second time. Most conferences has experienced times of refreshing from the insights revealed in his teachings.
Tenari Ma’afala is the Hawaii SHOPO president, voted in his 4th consecutive term.
Popularly known as “T”, he is very passionate in bringing together and representing the best interest of the 3,000-member Police Union. His passion includes serving as Leader to the Windows of Hope Men’s Fellowship and other Men’s Ministries. They have three daughters with his wife Tracy of 27 years.
This event will be held on October 7-8 (Friday/Saturday) at the Aloha Church. Conference fee is $25.00. (includes Friday refreshments/desserts and Saturday Lunch) A love offering will be received.
Please invite the men of your congregations, family members and co-workers 18 years and older. Together, we can move forward and press on to fulfilling the Lord’s plan and purpose for our lives!
