The 64th Annual National Day of Prayer
Lord, Hear Our Cry
Thursday, May 7th, 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM
County of Kauai Civic Center Rotunda
On behalf of the planning team for the 64th Annual National Day of Prayer I extend invitation to visitors and the people of Kaua`i to join others on Thursday, May 7 at the County of Kaua`i Civic Center Rotunda. The observance is scheduled for 11:30 am - 12:30 pm. The National Day of Prayer is held in thousands of communities across our country.
Dr. Jack Graham, the 2015 Honorary Chairman, wrote: "It is an opportunity to see the Lord’s healing and renewing power as we call on citizens to humbly come before God's throne. The theme for 2015 is "Lord, Hear Our Cry," emphasize the need for individuals, corporately and individually, to place their faith in the unfailing character of our Creator, who is sovereign over all governments, authorities, and men. To further highlight our theme, we've chosen I Kings 8:28 as our Scripture for this year: “Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day.”
Today, we as a nation face moral and spiritual crisis that is undermining the biblical foundations upon which our nation was established. Someone wrote, "we find ourselves at a defining moment for our nation's future. In the last 40 plus years our nation has increasingly drifted lazily toward the falls of godless postmodern values, rejecting God's standards." The current state of the economy, crisis in the schools, in marriages, in families, cultural conflicts and other issues are making us aware that America and the Christian community need to awaken to the realities in our nation. We need to gather and cry out to the Lord for God's mercy on America.
The National Day of Prayer is a call to unite in prayer on May 7. Please stand with us to call on God to change the direction of our nation. There will be a time of repentance, address our shortcomings, reflect on the greatness of our nation and to pray for a spiritual awakening in our churches, communities, state, and nation.

GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE
Friday, April 3 @ 7 PM
Kaua`i War Memorial Convention Hall
The Christian community of Kaua`i will observe GOOD FRIDAY on Friday, April 3 in the Kaua`i War Memorial Convention Hall.
We will also have a CrossWalk that evening leading up to the service. A cross will be carried down Rice Street, from the County Building parking lot, then left onto Hardy and up to the War Memorial Convention Center where Good Friday Service will be held beginning at 7:00 PM. Each church is invited to choose a delegate or two to carry the cross a portion of the way, while the rest of the group follows behind. It would be great to have hundreds of people singing praises, carrying signs and banners expressing our love for the Lord.
The message of the CROSS - foolishness to those who are perishing, but the POWER of God to those of us who are saved!
Everyone will meet at the County Building at 5:45 PM to start with prayer and then to start walking. People can park there or they may choose to park at the convention center parking lot and walk up to the county buildings, so their cars are already there after the service. Please inform your congregations and encourage them to participate.
Pastor Steve Rex is coordinating the walk, and inviting you to have your delegates contact him at 828-0724 or 635-7075 or calvarychapelnorthshore at hawaiiantel dot net, so that he can organize the cross bearers and make sure each one is included. Each church can come up with it's own signs or banners (promoting Jesus not anything else). Let's let our light so shine before the people of Lihue, that they see our good deeds and glorify our Father in heaven.
Bring your friends, invite everyone.
